Have some leftover cooked brown rice in the refrigerator? Then we have wonderful news for you: It is perfect in this nutritious twist on fried rice. Due to its increased fiber content and nuttier flavor than white rice, brown rice keeps you fuller for longer. This implies that a serving of Air Fryer Fried Brown Rice can easily be transformed into a meal rather than serving as a side dish. If that's your thing, you could even add some leftover steak or pieces of avocado on top. Combine Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry, Mapo Tofu, and Ginger Pork Pot Stickers with Air Fryer Fried Brown Rice.

Fried rice works best with grains that are at least a day old. But we discovered that precooked brown rice in a package works just as well in this recipe. Furthermore, while brown rice may be cooked in an air fryer, this recipe calls for cooked brown rice. Alternatively, do you have cooked white rice on hand? You may also use it.

Although using an air fryer to prepare fried rice is healthier than using a pan, the meal comes out less crispy. If you want that, use a regular fried rice recipe and a wok or pan instead.

Ingredients

Steps

Combine the carrot, ginger, white scallion pieces, vegetable oil, and salt in a 7" nonstick circular pan. Pan should be put in an air fryer basket. Cook at 400° for about 5 minutes, stirring once halfway through, until the onion and carrot are just soft.

Remove the air-fryer basket, then combine the carrot mixture with the rice, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and a few grinds of pepper.

It will take another 5 minutes or so for the rice to become slightly toasted at 400°.

Take the air fryer basket out, then add egg to one half of the rice mixture and peas to the other. When the egg is almost set and the peas are warm, which should take about 4 more minutes at 400 degrees, stir everything together. Add green scallion pieces on top.
