Ingredients:
- 2 cups of white wheat berries soaked overnight
- 7 cups of water
- 1 T butter or oil
- 1 T salt
- 2 potatoes, sliced up or cut into cubes.
- 2 cups sliced carrots, sautéed but not browned
- 5 celery stalks sliced up
- 1 t poultry seasoning
- 2 sliced onions
- 2 cloves of smashed garlic if you like that
- ¼ t thyme
Directions:
- Use the instant pot and put it on the grain setting
- Put the wheat, potatoes, and carrots on there, making sure the wheat is cooked and the veggies are browned
- You can eat this immediately, but for better results, turn slow cooker on and simmer for another 30 minutes for stronger flavor
- You can garnish with parsley and serve it with plain yogurt if desired.
