Chapter 11

Leaving the Park

They had all loaded into the car after getting off the tram.

“Riding a tram was really fun,” said Josie. “I’d do that again!”

“Grand Teton Park had a lot of fun adventures. We will drive through Jackson Hole as we head to our new destination,” said Grandpa “But we aren’t going to stop, because I want to make it in time for dinner, and we have a 5 hour drive ahead of us. Keep your eyes open because it is a fun town.”

“Look at those arches!” exclaimed Max as they drove through Jackson Hole.

“There is an arch on each corner of the park,” said Grandma. “They are made out of real elk antlers.”

“Where do they get so many antlers?” asked Josie.

“An elk refuge is nearby, so they collect the antlers from there. Male elk grow antlers every year and lose them at the end of every year,” said Grandpa. “Can you believe there are 2,000 antlers in each arch?”

They passed the park and continued down the road. “Well,” said Grandma, “I want to hear what everyone’s favorite part of the trip was.”

“Definitely the bird show!” said Max.

“I loved the tram ride in the mountains,” said Josie.

“What about you Grandpa?” asked Josie.

“Definitely fishing!” Grandpa replied smiling.

“It was fun to share time with you two,” said Grandma. “I really liked canoeing, even with my mishap!”

As they headed towards the next park, Grandpa asked, “Is everyone ready for the next adventure?”
