Chronology Notes

For those Chronologists who are interested in such things – and I am very much in that camp, having spent over twenty years compiling a Whole Art of Detection of the lives of Holmes and Watson, consisting of a massive Chronology that includes events from the Canon as well as any information from countless other sources that relate true and correct versions of cases involving Our Heroes – these are the dates (some approximate) when the narratives contained in this volume took place:

• “The Mystery at Kerrett’s Rood” – April 7-8, 1883 and early to late September 1878
• “The Curious Incident of the Goat-Cart Man” – September 27, 1890
• “The Matter of Boz’s Last Letter” – Early to mid-June 1897
• “The Tangled Skein at Birling Gap” – September 23, 1905
• “The Gower Street Murder” – Late September 1902 and August 21, 1879
