In today’s news, the stock market is crashing to record lows across the world. The downfall has been steady since the uncertainty following the Paris attack and the threat looming over New York City. But the markets were hit particularly badly in the opening hours when businesses in The Virt discovered this morning that they could no longer charge fees for their goods or services. The companies aren’t the only ones hit by this change, as employees in The Virt can no longer be paid while working in The Virt. Since The Virt represents over seventy percent of consumer expenses, this will have a dramatic effect on the world economy.

Bankruptcies have already been declared by popular fashion designers, such Boy Buster and Rosalie Stars, claiming that deferred payments for Virt purchases had been cleared from accounts.

Lou Baggio, the iconic owner of restaurant franchises including the beloved Lou’s Pizzeria joined us earlier to discuss the situation.

“My business cannot exist anymore. But this isn’t only about me and my losses. This is about all of us. Restaurants will be closed down, and all those smiling humans...real humans, not Fakes...will no longer be paid to serve you your meals.”

We would like to reassure viewers that restaurants will remain available in The Virt. The change implies that they will be fully managed and serviced by the Qintellect. It remains to be seen if they can offer an experience to rival the friendliness of Lou’s pizzeria.

Business CEOs from around the world have joined voices to plead their case before the governments, asking them to act immediately and firmly to remediate the situation. In response, the governments reminded the business community that they were powerless to change the parameters of The Virt. The system has been hijacked and an ability to recover access is not foreseeable in the short term. The government is, however, considering another option, as explained by the Head of Economic Development, Mr. Rosewater:

“While we are limited in our ability to decide The Virt’s parameter, we can stop the senseless migration into the secure locations, limiting the disruption to our supply of essential goods. By closing down The Virt, we can start an international collaboration to recreate a new virtual space where economic activity can prosper.”

Asked how he would prevent people from entering The Virt, he had this to say,

“All options are on the table. Escaping into a simulation is not an acceptable option. Citizens have responsibilities and can’t freely leave those responsibilities behind. Entering secure locations will no longer be tolerated. We are looking for ways to close them down permanently. As an act of solidarity with business owners, we are asking that citizens stop all activities in The Virt until the situation has been resolved.”

In acts of rebellion, citizens from around the world continue to seek out and enter these secure locations that are multiplying by the day. The English and Indian governments have gone as far as deploying their army to prevent people from accessing these sites. Rebel groups have challenged this decision with violent clashes, claiming that governments had no right to block access.

As the ongoing situation continues to unfold, we will keep you informed...
