As with all my novels, I have used a mixture of real places and imaginary settings to allow the creative juices to flow in Christmas at a Highland Castle. Kirkshield Castle is fictional, as is the village, but I hope I have suitably conveyed my ideal of a fairy-tale Highland castle nestling in the natural beauty of Scotland.
