IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTES
Although this is not intended as a training manual for dominants, because many of the methods touched on in this book can be dangerous to one’s health, we are including some thoughts on safety.
- NEVER attempt to tie your partners in any way that will cause them to have to bear their full weight on the bindings. Suspension requires special knowledge and equipment to execute safely.
- NEVER bind your partners anywhere, but especially at the wrists and ankles, with too much tension for too long a time. Pressure at the wrists, for example, can easily cause nerve damage to the hands in a short time.
- NEVER leave your partner bound and unattended.
- NEVER strike a submissive in the kidney area, on the spine, in the face, or in any other potentially dangerous bodily location.
- NEVER break the skin of the submissive with a non-sterile instrument.
Needles used for temporary piercings mest be sterile and used only once.
- NEVER practice Carnal Alchemy while in a chemically impaired
state.

- ALWAYS provide for some mode of communication with your submissive. You
should always have a "safe-word" the submissive can use to tell you that the
intensity level has become too great to bear. If the submissive is gagged,
provide a hand signal that will serve the same purpose.
- ALWAYS be aware of the presence of bodily fluids and breaks in the skin
and take measures to prevent the spread of infections, hepatitls, Hiv, and
so forth.
- ALWAYS respect any safe-words that have been prearranged.
- ALWAYS be sure that your activities with any partner are safe, sane, and
consensual.
