Wrong Move

Words to Treasure

Increase my knowledge and give me good sense, because I believe in your commands.

Psalm 119:66

Teddy leapt into the air and landed hard on Mike. He did the wrestling move exactly right, but he wasn’t exactly expecting the funny snapping noise and Mike’s howls of pain. “Get off! Get off me!!” Mike cried loudly. Teddy got off and saw Mike’s arm looking kind of odd and twisted.

Mr. Lucas raced into the bedroom. “What happened?” He looked at his son’s arm and asked again. “What happened?”

Teddy looked worried, “We were just wrestling like on TV.”

“Well,” Mr. Lucas said as he helped Mike sit up. “Looks like we’ll be taking a trip to the hospital.”

Important information: Many, many of the things we see on television should stay on television. Professionals on television do all kinds of things that are dangerous and should never be tried by kids. They know how to make stunts look real, or they have special equipment to help them. Television or movie stunts may seem like cool things to try, but getting hurt isn’t impressive. Making good safe choices is all about having good judgment. God made you smart, so making smart choices should be your first move. Play safe!

Did You Know?

Did you know Jacob wrestled with God all night, and even when his hip was twisted he still didn’t give up? When the morning came, God blessed him. (See Genesis 32:24 – 30.)
