A Lot to Learn

Words to Treasure

Or is God the God of Jews only? Isn’t he also the God of Gentiles? Yes, he is their God too.

Romans 3:29

Zac looked up the palm tree, a little uncertain. His friend Adan laughed as he quickly climbed to the top of his tree, the bottoms of his feet firmly pressed against the tree trunk. Zac started his climb, but he only got a few feet up and had to jump down. His climbing skills needed work.

Zac wished he didn’t have to leave Adan’s village so soon, because he had learned so many new things from his friend, such as fishing with a net and how to use a machete to clear a path in the forest. Adan’s people had been living this way for thousands of years. Zac had learned one important thing: having computers and video games didn’t make his world better or more important — just different. When we start thinking that the way we live and where we live is the best, it’s time to go explore the world and do a little rethinking. God created a big world, and there are lots of different ways to live in it.

Discovering Archaeology

Archaeologists digging at Herod the Great’s palace in Israel found 2,000-year-old Judean date palm seeds. In 2005 they planted some of the seeds, and one of them sprouted and is still growing today. Wow, a 2,000-year-old plant! What’s the expiration date on those dates?
