Joey, Wendy, and Sandra went back to the neighborhood garden only to discover it completely trashed again!
Joey picked up a broken bean plant. “We can’t keep rebuilding the garden every morning.”
Sandra looked at the apartment buildings overlooking the garden and got a brilliant idea. “What if we did a block watch? People could take turns watching the garden from their apartment windows.”
They knocked on doors and talked to neighbors about the garden. People were willing to watch over and protect the garden. Now it wasn’t just their garden anymore; it was everybody’s garden!
Wendy painted a big sign and posted it on the garden fence. “Garden Under 24/7 Surveillance. Vandals Will Be Promptly Reported to Police.” Would this plan work?
When good people work together, evil finds it harder to get in there and mess things up. When God is on your side and you work together, anything is possible.
Did You Know?
Did you know that Nehemiah had men with trumpets ready to sound the alarm if anybody tried to attack the workers rebuilding the wall? They had to work with tools in one hand and weapons in the other. They were a wall-rebuilding, peacekeeping team.
