Words to Treasure
But be strong. Don’t give up. God will reward you for your work.”
2 Chronicles 15:7
The big horse moved at a steady pace around the ring. Tina’s instructor was standing in the middle as the horse and girl circled her. Tina was kneeling on the broad back of Storm. Her legs felt shaky. She started to rise but knew she was going to lose her balance. So she went back down to her knees. Mrs. Romeyn nodded. “That was better . . . almost. Try again.”
Tina sat down with a groan. “How many times is it going to take before I can do this?”
Mrs. Romeyn stopped Storm and walked over. She looked up at Tina with an encouraging smile. “As many times as it takes.” Tina grunted in frustration but was ready to try again.
As many times as it takes. Whenever we try something new and challenging it may not come easy. Not the first try or the second time. Maybe not even after a hundred tries. So be patient with yourself; don’t give up. When you do succeed . . . awesome will describe the feeling inside.
