Little Thing or Big Mistake?

Words to Treasure

Teach me. Then I’ll be quiet. Show me what I’ve done wrong.

Job 6:24

Wayne, Mel, and Brad were never ever allowed to ski out-of-bounds past the ski runs. They thought it would be okay to follow some older guys, but they hadn’t planned to go this far. Somehow they had taken a wrong turn. Now they were lost, and to make matters worse, Brad had fallen down a snow well around a tree. It was deep, and they couldn’t seem to get him out without snow falling down on top of him. It was getting dark, and they were in big trouble.

Little wrong things can turn into life-threatening big mistakes. Where did the boys go wrong? When they figured they could get away with a little wrong choice. They can’t! Now they’re in a very scary situation and need a rescue team to find them. They’re in for one long cold night and one long talking-to by everybody. Wrong is never right.

When Joshua and company finally took the city of Jericho, God told them not to take anything with them from the city. But a guy named Achan ignored God’s order and took a few things for his tent. This upset God, so when they had their next battle, guess what? They lost big-time. Joshua couldn’t figure out why, because God had promised only victory. Well, Achan’s little wrong thing turned out to be a big problem for everybody. (See Joshua 7.)
