Words to Treasure
When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.
1 Corinthians 13:11
Tom had done two major things today. He had made a huge model castle with all his plastic building pieces, and he had made an important decision. He had decided that he didn’t want to have any more birthdays, because the older he got, the more he would change. Tom was worried that someday he wouldn’t like his toys anymore and wouldn’t want to build forts in the backyard anymore. Tom didn’t want to grow up and be a teenager. He didn’t want anything in his life to change — ever. He liked being a kid.
Change isn’t a bad thing! Growing up isn’t an instant ZAP! You’re different! You kind of grow into growing up. That’s the way God made it to be. Sure, your interests will change, but you’ll want those changes when the time comes. You’ll want to try new things, because you’ll be ready for them. Someday driving a real car will be a whole lot better than playing with a toy car. Don’t freak out. Just take one day at a time. Change is good.
Live It!
