Words to Treasure
ou are the God who does miracles.
Psalm 77:14
Jesse’s mom rubbed the newborn puppy vigorously with a towel. The little pup looked kind of blue and wasn’t breathing. Jesse stroked his dog as the new mother licked her other pups. “Do you think it’s dead?”
“Well,” his mom kept rubbing. “Sometimes they just need a little jump start.” Jesse said a quick prayer in his head. The pup suddenly did a little twitch and made a soft squeak. His nose and mouth turned from blue to pink. “There we go. That’s it, baby,” said Mom.
“Was that a miracle?” Jesse took the little puppy and placed him beside his wriggling brothers and sisters.
His mom smiled. “I don’t know, maybe.”
What is a miracle? A miracle is something wonderful that God does for us. It can be big like parting the Red Sea or small like helping a little puppy take its first breath. (Yes, even that could be a miracle too.) All we have to do is believe in God and Jesus. Miracles happened in Bible times, and God causes wonderful things to happen today as well.
Did You Know?
The Bible records that Jesus did 37 miracles, but that doesn’t even count the thousands of people he healed. Jesus was full of miracles and love just like his Heavenly Father.
