Inside Out

Words to Treasure

So accept one another in order to bring praise to God.

Romans 15:7

I don’t like my size.” Wyatt ate a chocolate bar in two bites as they walked along.

His best friend, Alton stopped, and looked up. “You’ve got to be kidding me?”

Wyatt shrugged. “I’m too big for a kid. I’m bigger than most adults. I’m big and clumsy. People stare. I always have to play Goliath in the church plays. I always get killed.”

“You never told me that.”

Wyatt shrugged again. “That’s because you’re a little person. I thought you wouldn’t understand.”

“Believe me, I understand. I’m less than four feet. You want to talk about people staring. I can tell you about people staring. But I never thought someone could feel bad about being big. That’s incredible. Thanks for telling me, man. We so get each other.” Wyatt extended his arm for a fist bump.

People come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes we just see what’s on the outside and don’t think about the person on the inside and how they’re feeling. Being a friend means wanting to know about the person on the inside as well as the outside.

Love It!

It is never cool to make fun of someone’s height, weight, cultural background, or anything about the way he or she looks. Losers put down others to make themselves feel better about themselves.

You’re not a loser, are you?
