Can You Hear the Love?

Words to Treasure

Praise the Lord. Praise the LORD from the heavens.

Psalm 148:1

Kevin felt the cool grass against his back as he looked at the millions and millions of stars in the sky. Then a bright light streaked across the night, and then another. One after another and then another. Soon the entire night sky was filled with streamers of light. The meteor shower painted the sky. This was amazing! “Look at that big one!” His dad pointed to the west. A meteor raced across and faded away. “Do you hear that?” Kevin listened and heard frogs in the pond and some night bird, maybe an owl. His dad explained, “Everything you see and hear is praising God tonight.”

Kevin thought about that. “Why tonight? Because of the meteor shower?”

His dad laughed. “They do it every night and every day.”

What an amazing thought! Everything that God created worships or thanks him all the time, maybe not in the same ways we do, but they do it. It’s just a natural thing in nature to praise God. The Bible says the heavens tell about the glory of God and the skies show that his hands created them. They “speak” of it and make it known — even though they don’t use words (Psalm 19:1 – 3).

Live It!

Psalm 148 talks about how everything in nature praises God by being exactly how he created them — a frog by being like a frog or a lion being like a lion. But for humans it’s different. Just being us isn’t enough. We have to choose to worship God and follow Jesus. So choose to join all of nature and praise God today. You’re in good company.
