Will watched as their marshmallows flared up into sweet infernos of fire. Kevin and Sean were laughing themselves sick as they stuck their sticks into the heart of stuck their sticks into the heart of the campfire. So much for “toasting” marshmallows. Those things were cinders now.
Will had been pretty unsure about going to this Bible Camp Weekend. Spending three whole days with a bunch of kids from church that he didn’t know very well hadn’t seemed like a very good idea to him when he first heard about it. Turns out it was a great idea! The weekend was only half over, and already they had done all kinds of fun things together. And he had made two new friends. Kevin passed him a piece of chocolate with one hand while burning six more marshmallows on a stick in his other hand. The guy was seriously crazy but seriously fun. This could be the start of a good friendship.
At church you hear the word fellowship all the time, but what does it mean? It just means being friends in a special God kind of way. God wants you to hang out and have fun with other godly people. Being lonely is never God’s plan for you.
