Words to Treasure
No one knows what lies ahead. So who can tell someone else what’s going to happen?
Ecclesiastes 8:7
Hannah matched each hiker with a llama she thought would suit them. They would trek up the narrow trail to a beautiful mountain meadow. After spending a month at the ranch, she knew each animal.
Hannah’s boots were now well broken in from all the hiking and ranch chores she was doing. She had found muscles she never knew she had. Grandma shook her head in wonder. “I’ve never seen my llamas take to someone the way they’ve taken to you. Hannah, you’re a natural with animals and hard work.”
Hannah had the tourists lined up with their llamas, ready to follow her up the trail. She gave Noble a playful nudge to get him moving. The llama rubbed his goofy head against her. To think she had been scared of him only a few weeks ago!
A big part of faith is trusting God with your future, especially when you’re not at all sure how things will turn out. Funny thing, if we knew how it would turn out, we wouldn’t look to God for direction every step of the way. Mystery is good.
