Words to Treasure
Without guidance a nation falls. But many good advisers can bring victory to a nation.
Proverbs 11:14
People were having a good time leading their llamas along the narrow trail. Hannah was in the front, and Grandma Sadie was taking the rear. All of a sudden, the llamas became frightened and skittish. The hikers had a hard time holding on to them. Hannah quickly searched the woods with her eyes, and what she saw sent a flash of fear through her body. She pulled out her bear spray, because just above them was the biggest cougar she had ever seen — actually, the only cougar she had ever seen.
Hannah froze for a minute, but quickly remembered what her grandmother had told her. Hannah shouted to the tourists, “Everybody, I want you to hold on to your llamas, but then I want you to shout — make lots of noise and wave your hands. Look really tall.” The hikers weren’t sure why they were doing this, but they followed her instructions. With an irritated grumble, the big cat leaped into the bushes and disappeared because of the noise.
Grandma waved her understanding to Hannah as they moved the group on up the trail. Then she quietly radioed for a park ranger.
Way to go, Hannah! She remembered what she had to do. That comes from listening to people with experience and doing what they teach you.
