Words to Treasure
But no one knows about that day or hour. Not even the angels in heaven know. The Son does not know. Only the Father knows.
Matthew 24:36
Ben stood at the end of the dock and looked across the lake. The bats were just coming out, chasing bugs in the twilight. He liked watching them. He liked everything about the cabin — swimming, hiking, fishing, and boating. He wasn’t ready to have the world end. And that thought worried him a lot. Uncle Thomas said he knew that the end of the world was coming soon. He talked about earthquakes, wars, and all kinds of things that pointed to the end of everything we know. Would it happen today, tonight, tomorrow, this week . . . next year?
Jesus said that one day he would return and the world we know would end. But that isn’t a bad thing. That will be one awesome, amazingly terrific day to celebrate because evil will be defeated and everything good that Jesus told us about God and heaven will happen.
Everything will be different but in a very good way. Nobody knows how mind bogglingly incredible it will be because our imaginations can’t even picture that much good. Think of your happiest day ever, and it will be better than that. But nobody, not even Jesus, knows when that day will happen. If Jesus doesn’t know, it’s doubtful Uncle Thomas has the heads-up on it either.
Live It!
The only thing you have to think about is loving God with all your heart, soul, and mind. God will take care of the rest. No worries.
