Master Plan

Words to Treasure

“You planned to harm me. But God planned it for good.”

Genesis 50:20

Krista hopped along on her crutches as she approached the podium. It was the award night for mountain bike racers. Krista talked into the microphone. “I want to give this Sportsmanship Award to a very special person and friend tonight. At the semifinals I fell off my bike, and Sandy pulled over and stayed with me until help came. She gave up her chance to win to help me. She’s both a hero and winner to me. But what you don’t know is that I did something very unsportsmanlike to her at the beginning of the race, and she never told anybody. That makes her my idol and role model. I want to become an athlete and a person just like Sandy Newman.” Krista wiped a tear from her eye as Sandy stepped up on the stage to claim her award. The girls hugged tightly, and the crowd stood up and clapped.

Sometimes when people do something for bad, God turns it around and makes it good.

No kidding, Joseph’s brothers were up to no good when they sold Joseph into slavery. But that evil plan got twisted around by God to make sure Joe became an extremely important person. And when a terrible famine came, Joseph had the power to help his family when they needed it the most. It was all in God’s master plan for good.
