Words to Treasure
The Lord rewards everyone for doing what is right and being faithful. He handed you over to me today. But I wouldn’t lay a hand on you.
1 Samuel 26:23
Allen was dribbling the basketball down the court, and he was absolutely going to make a basket this time. He could feel it happening. This was going to be the most perfect basket ever. Suddenly, Allen tripped over something; his arms flew up, and the ball bounced away. He did a face-plant in front of his entire class. Allen had been purposely tripped. He looked around the gym. Connor smiled a mean smile as he slid his foot back. “Sorry about that, Allen.”
It was lunchtime and Allen was standing in front Connor’s locker again with the can of Stink Spray. He was so mad that this time he was going to do it. This was the day! This moment! This second! Right now! He was ready any second now. Spray away! But Allen couldn’t do it. He just wasn’t a revenge kind of guy.
Once again Allen did the right thing by not doing what’s wrong. You know what? He’s a hero in God’s eyes.
