Words to Treasure
Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! You will be given what you are asking for.”
Matthew 15:28
Cam was snowboarding down a big hill. Not only that, but he was fast and confident. He knew what he was doing and how to do it. He was good!
He remembered his first class on the baby hill. He had fallen so many times his backside was black and blue. He didn’t think he’d ever be able to get the hang of it. But every afternoon for the last three winters Cam went to the ski hill by his house and practiced. Every time he fell down, he got back up and tried again and again and again. All that hard work paid off. Not only could he snowboard, but someday he hoped to teach snowboarding. And now he had the faith to believe he could do it.
Faith is about believing and trusting in someone or something. It took everyday hard work for Cam to believe in himself. Sometimes it takes everyday hard work to build a big faith in God too. Two important faiths in action.
Live It!
Do you have goals like Cam did, but you just don’t believe that God can help you achieve them? Get a calendar and make a faith plan. On each date, write one thing you can do that day to help you reach your goal, whether it is learning to snowboard or doing better with your homework. Big challenges get smaller when you and God work on them together every day. Your life is a big faith construction zone.
