Get Out There!

Words to Treasure

That’s because the LORD was with Joseph. He gave Joseph success in everything he did.

Genesis 39:23

Brady cracked his fingers loudly as he paced. He sat down and stood up. And sat down. And stood up. Then he paced the hall some more. Finally he leaned against the wall and played air-piano, moving his fingers along an imaginary keyboard. He was next, and the results of this piano competition could change his future. But was he ready? Had he practiced hard enough? Questions ping-ponged around in his head. Could he really go out and play his best in front of all those people? Or would he mess up? Should he even try? “STOP!” his brain screamed. Brady calmed down.

Not try? Of course he had to try! If you don’t take big risks, you won’t ever learn how to face the big challenges God has for you. And that’s disappointing for everybody. God knows exactly what you can do and what challenges you’re ready to face. So get ready for a wild ride called your life. Play on!

Live It!

Jesus told the story of a servant given money to use to make more money. But the servant was very afraid of losing the money he had. So instead of using it, he buried it in the ground. Later, when the master asked to see how much money the servant had made for him, the servant could only give back exactly what he had been given and no more. The master was very unhappy. God has given you some special talents, so don’t be afraid and don’t hide them. Go out and use them, just like Joseph.
