Tiny Church

Words to Treasure

People from many nations will go there. They will say. “Come, let us go up the Lord’s mountain. Let’s go to the house of Jacob’s God. He will teach us how we should live.”

Micah 4:2

Killian looked around the tiny island church and compared it to the church he went to back home. His church had thousands of members, and it was a huge complex. This church was one room with maybe a few hundred people sitting in the tiny space. “Mom, this church is so small,” Killian whispered. “Where’s the youth center for the kids? You know, like our church. Where’s the pool table, the video games, and the couches to hang out in?”

An older man overheard Killian and leaned forward. “You are right. We are just a small island church, not like the kind you’re used to. But God’s word teaches a few people just as easily as it teaches thousands. Our youth center is out there.” The old man pointed outside to the tropical beach and the blue water. “Our children seem to like it very much.”

The completely amazing and incredible thing about God is that he loves every type of church. Big or small. City cathedrals or simple country chapels. God doesn’t care and neither should we.

Did You Know?

Some prophets talked to kings and great rulers, while other prophets, like Micah, liked to live, work, and speak to simple ordinary everyday people who needed to hear God’s voice too. Micah knew everybody needed God.
