Crushing

Words to Treasure

But I am like a healthy olive tree. My roots are deep in the house of God. I trust in your faithful love forever and ever.

Psalm 52:8

Jo sat with her friends, cheering for Jason. Even their names both started with a J. It was fate they should fall in love. Problem One — he was in ninth grade and she was in seventh grade. Problem Two — he didn’t know she was alive. But tonight she would talk to him.

She approached him at the end of the game, “You play really, really well.”

“Sure, thanks.” He picked up his sports bag and caught up with his buddies. He was gone. Three months of getting up the courage to talk to him and that was it.

Having a crush happens to everybody. A crush is when you like somebody a lot. Sometimes we like somebody that really isn’t right for us. There are a hundred reasons why liking somebody may not be the right thing for now. Just remember, God has the perfect person for you to like at exactly the right time, when you’re ready. Having a crush can be a little bit crushing. But that won’t always be the case.

Live It!

If you need somebody to talk to about the person you like, your mom and dad or other adults in your family know all about it. They’ve had a few crushes of their own. They can help you figure out some of those feelings that come with love.
