Laugh Out Loud

Words to Treasure

A cheerful heart makes you healthy.

Proverbs 17:22

Duncan wasn’t sure what Su-Yung was saying in Korean, but she seemed to think that the way he used his chopsticks was kind of funny. Duncan watched Su-Yung show him how to do it again, but his big fingers just couldn’t get the hang of eating with the thin sticks. This time he almost got the piece of fish to his mouth, but then he dropped it in his lap. He sheepishly looked around the table while Su-Yung and her family giggled in a nice way. He relaxed and laughed too. It didn’t matter that they couldn’t understand each other. It didn’t take Duncan very long to decide that eating Korean style wasn’t easy — and that his Korean hosts were very nice about his mistakes.

The amazing thing about laughter is that everybody in the whole world laughs. Everybody! We don’t have to speak the same language to understand laughter. Laughing together tells others that you like them and you’re having a good time being with them. The world should do a whole lot more laughing together. God loves it when we laugh.
