So make sure that the light inside you is not darkness.

Phil and Min hardly noticed the other people leaving the movie theater because they were busy talking about the movie. Both agreed that the bad guy was pretty evil. He was pretty much all evil. But they started talking about what made him evil, and they couldn’t decide what evil is. Is evil a person or a thing or what? Can you touch evil? Can you see evil?
Evil isn’t actually a thing or a person. It is kind of like darkness. What is darkness? Darkness can only happen when we don’t have any light — no sunlight or light from a lamp. Darkness happens because there is a lack of light.
Same with evil. Evil is the lack of good. Evil can only happen if we shut out good the same way we do light. People can choose not to do right things, and that’s a lot like sitting in a dark room in the middle of the day. Evil happens when people shut out good.
People in Bible Times
Jesus said we should be the light of the world. To put it another way, the good of the world. He said that we should let our light or goodness be seen in how we love God, love other people, and do things. When people see the light or good inside you, they will thank and praise the God who made you that way. (See Matthew 5:13 – 16.)
