Kids Rock

Words to Treasure

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young. Set an example for the believers in what you say and in how you live.

1 Timothy 4:12

Susie’s uncle was practically falling into the open hood of his car and wasn’t very happy about it. Her neighbor Thomas walked across the lawn and stood by the car. “Excuse me. Can I help?”

Susie’s uncle glanced over his shoulder. “Help? Help with what? You’re just a kid.”

Thomas shrugged. “A kid that’s been helping in his dad’s auto repair shop since he was two. I can help if you want me to.”

The man stopped working and sized up the kid beside him. “Really? You know about engines? Do you know why it’s making that weird noise?”

Thomas grinned. “Sure do.”

Don’t let your age stop you from doing extraordinary things at school, at home, and at church. In fact, when it comes to being a good example and doing right things, age just doesn’t matter. Ready or not, God’s got an adventure waiting for you. You’re an amazing person right now, so be prepared to do amazing things right now. Later is for the other guy.

Take the case of Jeremiah. One day God made Jeremiah his special prophet. But Jeremiah freaked out because he was just a kid. He wasn’t ready to talk to nations and kings. But God thought being a kid was a good thing and just what he had in mind. Jeremiah was a kid and God’s messenger.
