Pray for You

Words to Treasure

In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy.

Philippians 1:4

His dad had on more gear than a gladiator in Rome. He had bought a helmet, wrist guards, knee guards, shin guards, elbow guards, and shoulder and chin guards. Troy and his dad stood at the top of a long, winding steep road. Troy had serious doubts about his dad’s new interest in longboarding. “Are you sure you want to do this, Dad?”

Troy’s dad furrowed his eyebrows, “You boys ride this hill all the time? It’s a good ride, right?”

“Sure, but I don’t think you’re ready for this.” Troy had a bad feeling about this. His dad put on his expensive sunglasses and pushed off down the hill. Troy called after him. “I’ll pray for you, Dad. Big prayer!” Troy pushed off to follow his dad. “You’ll need it.”

Did you know that the adults who love you usually spend some time praying and talking to God about you? That’s right, you have your own personal fan club, with the Lord of the universe as president and chief of operations. Your club wants good things for you in the future.

Do you spend time praying for the adults in your life? Maybe it’s time to include a little prayer time for adults when you are talking with God.

Live It!

Hey, ask your parents if they have some things they’d like you to pray about for them or the entire family. Then every night you can talk to God about those things.
