Virginia Woolf (1882-1941) was a celebrated novelist, essayist and critic, and a significant figure in the ‘Bloomsbury Group’ of artists and writers. Her first novel, The Voyage Out, appeared in 1915, and she is best remembered for her novels Mrs Dalloway (1925), To The Lighthouse (1927), and the feminist classic A Room of One’s Own (1929).
