The calf swims no
more than a foot
(30 centimetres) away
from its mother’s side
where there is calmer
water and the wake
from its mother helps
to pull it along.
Dolphins have also learned a cool trick
– bow-riding. When a ship pushes
forward through the water, it creates
a pressure wave at its bow. Dolphins
love to chase a ship and surf the pressure
wave. Speed, danger, fun? I like the way
those dolphins think!
