The Nārada Bhakti Sūtras
1. For discussion on yogamāyā and lack of awareness of God’s majesty, see “Līlā and Yogamāyā.”
2. The other practices—Vedic ritualistic specializations, knowledge, and the practice of yoga—are to a great extent based on the performer’s ego and virtuosity in the techniques of these fields. Bhakti involves complete surrender of one’s ego and thus involves humility.
3. For bhakti under the influence of the guṇas, see discussion in “Bhakti Mixed with Karma and Jñāna.”
4. See discussion in “Rāga, Bhāva, and Rasa” on bhāva.
5. These three could refer, among other possibilities, to the paths of karma, jñāna, and bhakti.
