Figure 3-16 Answers: 1. Because the rhythm is regular, we can use either the 6-second or 12-second strip to Figure out that there is a rate of: 5 (the number of beats in 6 seconds) × 10 = 50 BPM. 2. This set has approximately 3.5 beats × 10 = 35 BPM. 3. When the beats are irregular, it is more accurate to use the 12-second strip and multiply that number by 5. This gives us a rate of: 8 beats × 5 = 40 BPM. 4. The rate is: 10 beats × 5 = 50 BPM.
