I’m Jesse Dresbach, I’m a Virgo, and I grew up in San Jose, California, getting myself into as many projects as I could find. To this day, I have very restless hands— I always need to be doing or making something creative. In 2006, I moved to Santa Cruz, California, where I started my blog Nine Red as a just-for-fun collection of projects and tutorials in a no-frills casual style. The blog led to an Etsy shop, where my most popular items have been, you guessed it—string art! I’ve been fortunate enough to have had so many interesting opportunities emerge out of all this, from massive-scale projects in San Francisco to this book. In 2012, my partner, Ralph, and I took the plunge and bought a home in Ben Lomond, California, where we officially became mountain men and spend our weekends working on the house, cruising around in our 1985 station wagon, and finding the best swimming holes in the San Lorenzo Valley.
