Thanks to Avri Sela

The newsletter and archives on Yehiam were Avri, and Avri was the newsletter and archives. Their histories are intertwined. Avri began writing and editing the newsletter when the kibbutz was still in Kiryat Haim, in 1946, before Yehiam was settled. From then until he passed away on Yehiam, Avri edited the newsletter and collected every note posted on the bulletin board and every piece of paper that anyone read from, even before they finished reading it. Many members preferred to make a copy of everything they wrote in advance, fearing that Avri would take down their notices too soon.

To help me write this book, Avri placed at my disposal everything he had collected, organized and cherished for decades—the newsletters and the entire contents of the archives. He was always happy to do it, inspired by curiosity and his love for what he did. Avri died a few months before I finished writing the book. I thank him with all my heart.
