GALVANIZED NAPKIN RINGS

I knew I wanted a simple galvanized touch on my dining table, and a napkin holder seemed the perfect way to do it. But, since I am not a welder, I kept coming up short on what to do. Fortunately, I have a tendency to slowly wander through independent hardware stores and farm-supply stores, focusing on anything with an interesting texture and shape, which is how I came across strap iron. In my weird way of looking at things, it became my “Aha!” moment and the perfect way to simply make a galvanized napkin ring.

- Fold over one end and then form a circle. Line up the holes at the ends with the folded-over end laying on top.

- Cut a 5" piece of twine with your scissors.
- Thread twine from the inside of the ring and tie it in a knot on the outside. Be sure to pull the twine tight to hold the strap iron in place.

- Repeat until you have your desired number of napkin rings, then set your table.
