BUCKET TREE

I have friends who fill their homes with up to ten trees around the holidays. While I don’t go that far, I do love to add a few trees and make them unique. Since there aren’t any rules that say trees have to have needles and be green, why not make a galvanized tree?

MATERIALS

• 7 galvanized tubs and buckets in graduated sizes
• About 2 cups of Epsom salts
• 1 quart-size Mason jar
• Votive candle
• Galvanized feed scoop
• 3–5 small pieces of greenery (you can use real or faux)
• Roll of wired ribbon

1. Place your largest tub with the opening facing up where you want to build your tree.

   

2. Turn your next-largest tub upside down and set it on top of the bottom tub.

   

3. Stack the remaining buckets in size order until you have all seven stacked.

   

4. Add Epsom salts to your Mason jar and place your candle inside.

   

5. Place your Mason jar inside your feed scoop and place it on the top of the stack. Add greenery.

   

6. Tuck the end of your ribbon under the feed scoop and wrap around the tree until you reach the bottom. Tuck the end behind your tree.
