Of course, I can never skip over the support and encouragement from my husband and daughters. They listen to me ramble about plot points—even though my girls think romance is disgusting—and whine when I’m overwhelmed. They’re my greatest inspiration and loudest cheerleaders. Lastly, as with a lot of my books, I chose a musical artist as the story’s inspiration. For this one, it was obviously Fall Out Boy. They may be seen as an early 2000’s emo band, but their music has so many layers and talks about so many different things. I adore them so much, and can often be seen driving around with their music playing in my truck. A lot of their early music, had a similar theme of the guy who wants the girl but can’t have her. So in this story, I took it one step further and made it so they wanted each other and couldn’t be together for a while.

Luckily, in romance novels, the guy always gets the girl in the end.
