ISAIAH 44:2
Who’s your mama?” is one question I cannot biologically answer. I have never even seen my mother. When she was fourteen, my mother went to her doctor for a physical and found out she was pregnant. The time for legal abortions had passed, so her only options were to keep me or give me up for adoption. She chose adoption. The same doctor had another patient who had always wanted a girl, and this man soon became my father. The papers were drawn up, and everything was ready for me to be born. Finally that day came, and as soon as I left the womb, I was taken from my mother. She never saw or held me. I was washed up, made presentable, and brought to the room where my new adopted family was waiting for me. I have lived with them for all my life, and this is my favorite story. I love it because it is one of the biggest things that make me unique and because it shows me how in control my God is. Not only did He create me, just as I am, he also made every detail work out between a fourteen-year-old girl and the people who would become my family. I am a part of the family that is perfect for me, in so many ways. The last reason I love this story so much is because through my new family, I learned what it means to be a part of God’s family.
