ROMANS 8:3
When I was fifteen, my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. We were living with her at the time, and she was in and out of the hospital, so I tried to help out more. It was hard, and I tried to keep up with cooking, paying bills, and shopping for food. It was exhausting trying to do these things in addition to school. My grandma started arranging for family members to watch us, which I hated. It was my home, and I didn’t like other people coming in to look after us. I remember having to take my younger brothers to see the social worker and having to decide where we were going to live. My younger brothers were thirteen and eleven, and I don’t think any of us really understood what was going on. The social worker said that we had to move because my grandmother wasn’t able to take care of us because of her cancer. That just tore my heart out! I was separated from my older and youngest brothers and my older sister, and the following February my grandmother passed away. Even as I lost so many people that I loved, God stayed with me. Things are not easy, but He never leaves me.

Thank You, Jesus, for never leaving me.
I am never alone as long as I trust in You.
