re-gifting

Not to us, O LORD,
not tons but to your name be the glory.

PSALM 115:1

Have you ever “re-gifted”? You know, given away a gift that someone else gave to you? Regifting may be considered rude by most people (and you’d probably be insulted if you knew someone re-gifted something you had given them), but the Lord actually wants you to give to others what He has given to you. God has given each one of us unique gifts. Some excel in academics, some in band, and others in soccer. Some are not exceptional at sports or other activities, but at reaching out to nonbelievers, listening to another’s problems, or just encouraging someone else to do their very best. The reason God gives us these gifts is so that they will ultimately glorify Him. He wants His light to shine through our actions. It should be our goal to “re-gift”: to take the gifts that God has given us, turn around, and give those gifts to others so that they might know Him.

Father, I want to give the gift of You to everyone I meet.
It doesn’t cost me anything, but it’s worth everything!
