EXODUS 20:17
What is one of a girl’s favorite places to go? The mall. Why is that? Shopping! What is the greatest sin we girls commit when we’re shopping? Coveting. Probably every girl has gone to the mall and coveted numerous things. Coveting is wishing for something you don’t have. Whether we covet clothes, makeup, or another girl’s features, it is still a sin. Maybe you never thought of it as a sin or you didn’t know you were doing it. I know a certain girl who I went shopping with, and it was amazing how many times she said, “I wish I had …” It is one thing to go to a store and buy stuff, but it is another thing to go around and say, “Oh I wish I had that and that and that.” That is coveting, and it is something God commanded us not to do. We need to be thankful and content with what we have. This is the way God wants us to be. Wishing we looked different or had different stuff is saying to God, “I don’t like the way you made me. I want to be different.” Next time you find yourself coveting, stop. Thank God for everything that you do have. Maybe make a list of all the things He’s blessed you with. Then You can see in black and white how lucky you are and why shouldn’t wish to have anything else or be anyone else.

God, today I will make a list of all the amazing things You’ve
done for me and given me. I pray that writing all these things
will help teach me to appreciate what I have.
