healed bruises

(part 3)

So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”

HEBREWS 13:6

Eventually, my brother and I were taken to live with Mrs. Abernathy, my second-grade music teacher. I was disobedient and violent, but she loved me anyway. No one had loved me before. Mrs. Abernathy adopted us. She takes us to church and loves us. I know God kept me strong though it all. I thank God every day for changing my life and for giving my brother and me a home, a real home. I see now that God’s plan was at work in my brother’s life, and in mine, the whole time. God meant it all for good. God gave us a loving Christian home to live in where we are not lonely, we are loved, and we are taught about the love of God. God cared so much for us that He did not forsake us. He will not forsake you, either, no matter what the circumstances that you live in might be. He is there with you and for you, and He sees the pain on the inside when no one else can.

Thanks for the people in my life
who love me no matter what.
They are amazing blessings to me, dear God.
