HEBREWS 12:2
During ninth grade, my Aunt died of liver cancer, my grandmother died of lung cancer, and my mother was diagnosed with her second episode of breast cancer. As my mom and I talked about all that had happened, she reminded me that everyone has their season of tragedy and that this was ours. Even while going through chemotherapy, losing her hair, and with the recent death of her sister and her mother, my mom continued to love God with powerful confidence that we would be all right. Wow! I think that was the day that I decided that I should put my focus more on God. I still struggle like every other teenager. I mess up a lot, but I try to focus more on God every day. And when I’m wrong I ask for forgiveness. Honestly, my character is being built as I focus on God 24-7. I’ve discovered that He talks to me through His Word, His people, and His Holy Spirit all the time. I never knew that God would talk to me—until I got my focus!

God, it’s so amazing that I can actually talk
to You and hear You answer back, if I really listen.
I want to hear You! Amen.
