RUTH 1:16
My whole life I have gone to a Christian school, and I know that I have been protected from some things because of that. But I also know that once I leave my school and enter the “real world,” my faith will be tested, and it will be really hard to stay true to what I believe. I have been blessed with a wonderful family and wonderful friends that encourage me to walk with the Lord, and I know that makes it easier. No matter where I am or what I’m doing, I don’t ever want to abandon my faith in God, but in our world it sometimes is hard not to. One of my favorite moments in the Bible is when Ruth chooses to go with her mother-in-law, Naomi, instead of returning to her home. This sort of loyalty is so beautiful. It is the kind that I want to develop in my life: loyalty to my family, to my friends, and, mostly, to my God.

I know I’m going to be tested—that’s the only
way to see how strong my faith is. So, please, God,
help me to be ready when the test comes.
