PHILIPPIANS 4:6
Do you ever worry? Well, I used to worry a lot, and I still do some now. I used to worry about everything, my hair, my grades … everything. If I got a B in school, I felt like a failure. Life was pretty awful, and I was miserable. Stress was like a rain cloud hovering overhead. Even after being on medicine for depression and after a stint in the hospital psych ward, I still worried and found that circumstances worsened and I was still depressed. Becoming a Christian and learning to give God my problems is what got me on the right road. I am not prefect, and sometimes I still try to solve my problems all on my own, but when I do, I end up digging a bigger hole for myself. After being a Christian for three years, life has improved. I have learned to let go of just about every little worry. I feel like the Lord has given me strength to fight my battles, and I know I am not alone. I have learned that you cannot control everything and worrying never makes things better.

I know I can’t do it all on my own.
So why do I keep trying to?
God, I want to ask for Your help more often.
