ROMANS 12:11
Susan! I thought I told you to take out the trash an hour ago! Get up here and do it now!” Does this sound familiar? Unfortunately, this conversation is probably all too familiar. We often wait until the last minute to do what our parents tell us to do, then come up with great excuses for why we hadn’t gotten around to it yet. Treating our parents this way is bad enough, but do we actually treat God this way as well? Do we wait until the last minute to do what God asks of us? God is our friend and a father, but He is also the creator of the world, and He deserves far more respect and honor than we give Him. When He says jump, we should be ready to fly. God doesn’t need wishy-washy Sunday Christians who put off His work until the last minute. He needs true servants who are willing and ready to serve Him at a moment’s notice. In fact, our whole lives should glorify our Lord. We should live as though someone were always watching, because guess what? He is!
