One of the many things that I struggle with is sharing my faith and standing up for my beliefs. I go to a public school, so everyone there is very open about what they believe, and their beliefs are sometimes very different from mine. This summer I went to a two-week “camp” that teaches about all the different worldviews. My roommate for this camp had a lot of different beliefs than I did. We talked about anything and everything. So this gave me an opportunity to practice stating my beliefs and the reasons to back them up. I think witnessing is one area that a lot of people struggle with. I would always say, “Well, as soon as I know how” or, “Once I learn more of what to say and how to get it across.” I will tell you from experience that you will never be perfect at witnessing and that each time you witness it is different. But the only way that you are going to be able to share your faith and beliefs at all is if you just start one day. As much as I wish there was a class on all the possible scenarios and things that could happen, there really isn’t, and you just have to get out there and do it. This is one of the many things that God is still working with me on, and I know that He will forever be working to improve me in this area.
