NAHUM 1:2‒3
I used to fall asleep watching television. I would fall asleep like this every time my mom worked the graveyard shift, and I would wake up the next morning when she got home. However, on a night in March 2003, someone else woke me up in the middle of the night. As I slept, a guy came into the room and assaulted me. I woke up and started kicking him until he left. Later that night I was subjected to an assault kit at the hospital from 2 until 8 a.m. I got sick after that. I thought, Why did this happen to me? But then when I moved, the church I went to was the same one I had gone to when I was little, and the pastor’s wife helped me out. She pointed out Nahum 1:2‒3 and the verses helped me out A LOT!! I was able to forgive the guy that did that to me and move on. It also helped me become stronger in Christ, just like it can for you. I know it happened for a reason that I did NOT understand at the time. We don’t always understand things, but what happened to me makes me feel stronger because I can help others who have been through what I went through. That brings a smile to my heart!

People do such horrible things to each other sometimes.
There are so many bad situations, so please, God,
help me to make the best of them.
